Tone It Up Tour! | Explore With Me
Tone It Up came to Houston! This fitness duo created an incredible fitness community of women who are supportive and loving. They have found the perfect formula to make a healthy lifestyle fun while leading workouts that kick your butt into shape. I’ve been following them since 2012 and they have introduced me to the healthy lifestyle. If I hadn’t ran into them on YouTube 5 years ago, I wouldn’t be living this incredible healthy lifestyle today!
I’ve attended their first and second fitness retreat at Newport Beach a few years back. I screamed with excitement when I heard the news of their first ever Tone It Up Tour! I knew I had to attend.
Their fitness festival featured Core Power Yoga and Jillian Michaels. While the workouts were happening, you were able to explore the rest of the venue with activities. There was a stand for Health-ade Kombucha, which was on tap to sample. Braid bars to tame your hair before your workout, and massage stations for after a kick-butt workout. Rosé to sip on your way to the Rosé Garden, Core Water EVERYWHERE, and more!
Come along with me in the video below. ♡
I had such a blast in Tone It Up’s fitness festival when they came by in Houston. It was about a 45 minute drive for me and you bet I blasted some music on my way there. It was beautiful and sunny that morning, about mid-80s and humid (typical Houston).
I met up at a parking space with my friend, Sapha, whom I met at a local yoga studio, who happened to also be a Tone It Up girl! We walked about 5 minutes to get to the venue and arrived at 10:30am, an hour and a half before the event began.
While waiting, we connected with a few girls around us and a few girls were giving away healthy snacks for us to munch on while we wait.
When 12pm hit, we split into two lines – VIP and General Admission. The VIPers (me!) were able to stay for the after party at the Rosé Garden, meet Karena and Katrina, and sip on mini smoothies and rosé while dancing our booties off. We arrived to the check in station, where we received our wristband to enter and our swag bag that had goodies (shown in the video).
Immediately after I checked in, I rushed to Sapha, who reserved a spot for me next to her mat. We rushed to the Tone It Up store before items ran out. Sure enough, almost everything was gone in less than 30 minutes since the doors opened.
After we got what we desired at the TIU shop, we rushed to the braid bar to get out hair braided before the workouts began. I ended up waiting in line through Core Power Yoga’s routine and Jillian’s workout. As soon as Jillian’s workout ended, with my hair braided, I met with Sapha and we explored the rest of the venue.
We hopped over to the Health-ade Kombucha station and sipped on a few flavors they were offering. We loved the Grape and Maca Berry flavors! We went over to the Core Water station, where we took a fun Boomerang.
We went over to the Wish Wall, where we were able to write down our intention.
As soon as we wrote down our intention, we attempted to wait in line to get Sapha’s hair braided. We ended up leaving the line because Katrina and Karena were about to start their workout.
Holy moly. I never thought of how tough it was going to be to workout in the sun like we did. It was definitely tough, and I admired the girls that did two or even all three of the workouts!
After Karena and Katrina’s workout, we were famished. We walked downstairs to the food trucks to grab something to munch on. We decided on Ripe Cuisine and both ordered a veggie burger with sweet potato fries. I also ordered a refreshing Lavender Lemonade. Yum.
We sat down and ate next to the Rosé Garden while Kelly James performed for the VIP girls. I reminisced to the days we were at the Tone It Up retreat, because he also performed for us by the beach. What an incredible talent he is.
Sapha and I had to part ways since she was not part of the VIP crew. After she left, I went in the Rosé Garden and met up with old TIU friends I met in my first year of Tone It Up. We hung out in a section of cozy bean bags and blankets and caught up with each other. My introverted-ness was more focused on soaking it all in than creating conversation. Typical me.
I got in line with the girls to meet up with Karena and Katrina. I’ve met them twice before, and I felt kind of rushed. I took a photo with them and gave them both a hug to thank them for everything they’ve done for us. I’ve already had my opportunity to bawl my eyes out to them and I didn’t rehearse enough what I wanted to say to them this time around. I was hoping to record an inspiring bit for you but I wasn’t able to make that happen unfortunately!
To my surprise as we were dancing the afternoon away, I unexpectedly met one of the girls I’ve been following since my first year of Tone It Up. She lives in Austin, so I didn’t expect her whatsoever. We both teared up when we saw and recognized each other. We had a mini catch up session, which was so refreshing. If you don’t follow Madison at Nourish and Namaste, I definitely recommend it! I admire her words of wisdom and she is one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met.
Even though the tour was 6 hour too short, I had a blast with everyone I met there! I’m so thrilled to have had the opportunity to go to Tone It Up’s first tour and I’m excited to meet Karena, Katrina, and other girls from the community as well. If you’re curious, I’ve also shared what they gave to us in our VIP swag bags in the video above. 🙂
Did you attend the Tone It Up tour? If so, where? And if you follow other fitness gurus, share them below! 🙂
Until next time XO
